He forged his leadership in the forge of the student and popular movement of the Autonomous University of Guerrero, in a period in which this was the echo chamber of the social movement in the state, since his student days in the leadership of the Guerrero University Student Federation, he was already fighting to expand the democratic freedoms of the state and the country.

  • 80's Student and popular movement (Universidad Pueblo). Promoted open doors for the poorest to study at the Autonomous University of Guerrero, with the motto "Critical, Scientific, Democratic and Popular University"

  • 90´s He moved through all areas of university life, from classrooms, student leader, professor, researcher, promoter of popular high school foundations, official within the university and candidate for rector. Federal delegate of ENEA (INEA). Federal Deputy in 1996 for the PRD and later Senator of the Republic.

  • The former president of the Government Commission of the Guerrero legislature was murdered, and he was also the best positioned leader of the left to be the candidate for governor in the 2011 elections. The impact of the prominent crime strongly disrupted public life in Guerrero and generated reactions of condemnation at the national and international level.
